Buenos Aires – Top 5 Shops for Ladies

Cora Groppo, Palermo Viejo

Anyone who has been to Buenos Aires knows that the shopping is fantastic and fabulous.  Since I’m lucky enough to make it down South a couple of times a year, I find myself buying most of my Argentine fashions at the following shops:

1.  Cora Groppo (El Salvador 4696 corner of Armenia, Palermo Viejo.  www.coragroppo.com)  Cora Groppo’s wonderful draping and attention to detail gets my vote as the #1 shop for ladies fashions in Buenos Aires.  Her clothes are well made and I still can’t believe that the last two pairs of pants I bought here are so comfortable.  Check it out, you won’t be disappointed!

2.  Paula Cahen D’anvers ( Honduras 4888 between Armenia and Gurruchaga, Palermo Viejo, Paseo Alcorta, Patio Bullrich, Galeria Pacifico.  www.paulacahendanvers.com.ar)  On my last visit here, I couldn’t resist the wonderful floral shirts and the suede chukka boots as well as the wonderful wool sweaters in wonderful solid colors.

3.  Pablo Ramirez (Peru 587, San Telmo.  www.pabloramirez.com.ar)  Wonderful shop for couture fashions in black and white.   If they don’t have something that fits you like a glove they will make alterations.  On one visit, I met an actress and two models who were being fitted for fashion shows.

4.  Jazmin Chebar (El Salvador 4702 and Gurruchaga, Paseo Alcorta, Patio Bullrich, Galeria Pacifico.  www.jazminchebar.com.ar)  Jeans here are the best. I buy a couple whenever I’m down here – the fabric is great and the fit is fantastic.  There are also wonderful cottons, sweaters, coats in beautiful colors.

5.  Maria Cher (El Salvador 4724 between Armenia and Gurruchaga. Paseo Alcorta, Patio Bullrich, Galeria Pacifico. www.maria-cher.com.ar)  Wonderful fashions including beautiful silk prints, metallic fabrics and wonderful cotton tops.  They also have great shoes and oversize bags.
