Alpacas are a member of the South American Camelids having similar resemblance to a Llama. They are mostly raised in highlands of Peru, Bolivia and Chile.  There is a growing number of Alpacas raised in the United States They are highly valuable for their luxurious, lightweight fibers which is often compared to Cashmere.  It also has the ability to keep moisture away from the skin and is durable and highly resistant to staining.  Its fibers are used to make textiles for garments, home products and more.
